Ghana Premier League side Medeama SC have released a statement backing their under fire coach Tom Strand after a winless start to the 2015/16 season.
The Tarkwa based side has recorded back to back defeats in the opening two fixtures of the Ghana Premier League against Ashanti Gold and Accra Hearts Oak.
The 2015 MTN FA Cup winners will travel to Kumasi to face Asante Kotoko on Sunday and ahead of the game, Swede trainer has come under intense pressure leading to speculations about a potential crisis in the camp of the Mauve and Yellow.
However, Management of the club have released a statement denying the widespread media reports regarding the future of Tom Strand.
The Statement Reads:
“Medeama would like to deny widespread media reports that the future of coach Tom Strand as been discussed.
“The club wants to make it clear that Strand continues to have our full support,”
“As Tom Strand has said himself, results have not been good enough and the team’s performances must improve.
“However, we believe that we have the right coach to turn this season around and that he has the squad with which to do it.
“We are disappointed with our unflattering start to the Premier League but we remain resolute behind our coach and the players to turn things around.
“All the speculation being circled must be disregarded.”
