Prof Mintah Rules Out Dwarfs Return

Professor Joseph Mintah, Psychologist of the senior national team, Black Stars, and former coach of Ebusua Dwarfs,  has ruled out a return to Ebusua Dwarfs should the coaching position becomes vacant.

Prof Mintah led Ebusua Dwarfs to their maiden participation in the African Confederations Cup two seasons ago, but left the position in a sourely taste in 2014.

J.E Sarpong was appointed as his replacement whilst he was still the substantive coach due to misunderstanding with the board. The team was relegated at the end of the season.

The Abontobotoa boys returned to the domestic top flight club competition in style, but have started poorly, loosing their first two games of the season against Dreams FC and New Edubiase, and J.E Sarpong has threatened to resign should he lose his third match against Hearts of Oak.

And with coaches limited in the system, rumours are gathering momentum that Prof Mintah could be coaxed to return to the club, but he has rejected a potential return to the Cape Coast-based club.

“My philosophy is that I don’t go back to where I came from. It is the only club I have worked with and I don’t go back when things are not right,” the University lecturer told Happy FM.

“For now, club coaching is out because I am concentrating on what I am doing.

“The problems the club is going through are part of football and anything can happen; they will find their rhythm.” He added.
