Ex-Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder and legend, Bernard ‘Dong’ Bortey has admitted he’s not surprised with the explosive start to life as a premier league player since signing for his old side.
Samudeen Ibrahim is turning out to be the signing of the season after starting his Ghana premier league debut against New Edubiase on a high-flying note with a man-of-the-match performance.
Plaudits have not been inadequate for the creative midfielder since the opening game of the season but Dong Bortey claims he’s not surprised as others haven known him personally as a ‘son’ – not biologically.
Speaking in an interview to Kumasi based Boss FM, Bortey said, “Samudeen has not started yet, the display so far is just a tip of the iceberg. I know him personally and he is like a ‘son’ so I know what I am saying. As you know what I did sometime ago and me nurturing him suggests he can only be better than me.”
