Ghana International, Elizabeth Addo has cautioned the Black Queens against complacency as they seek to secure qualification for the African Women’s Championship, slated for Cameroon later this year.
Ghana beat Tunisia 2-1 in the first leg of the final round of qualifiers on Wednesday in Tunis and any win or a draw in the second leg in Accra on Tuesday will see the Queens through to the continental show piece.
Speaking on the chances of the team for the tournament, the midfielder, who currently plays for Ferencvaros in the Hungarian women top flight league expressed delight about the result in Tunisia.
“I was happy, they picked a point in Tunisia. It’s very important [They got the win]”, she told SportsCrusader.com from her base in Hungary.
Elizabeth Addo however was quick to admit that an upset is a possibility and urged the team to stay focus.
“Anything can happen [In Football] and so they [the Black Queens] have to stay focus till the end of 180th minute”, Addo added.
Elizabeth Addo, like other Ghanaian female players abroad was not involved in the qualifiers but is likely to make the squad to Cameroon if the Black Queens seal qualification.
