Kumasi Asante Kotoko flying winger Eric Donkor has issued a verbal warning to Accra Hearts of Oak ahead of their clash on Monday.
The marauding winger admitted to their indifferent form ahead of the trip but has rule out any such inferiority complex when they take to the pitch.
Kotoko warmed up for the short trip to the nation’s capital with a 0-1 reverse whiles Hearts of Oak coincidentally earned a 1-2 away in Obuasi against the champions.
Eric Donkor, who enjoyed a stellar preseason with the reds before suffering a dip in form however rubbished any such fears ahead of the much publicised ‘El-Classico”.
The experience left winger, who can equally play as typical number three, dubbed the match as the biggest of the season so far as they prepare to reincarnate their ailing season.
“It is the biggest game in Ghana and it means a lot to me personally as a player. It comes along side the bragging rights for both players and the supporters”, Donkor told sports crusader.
He added, “our season hasn’t so impressive but I pray that we win to motivate us into the rest of the season. We knew of the fixture before the season starts and we are ready for this Hearts of Oak clash. In football you have to be ready for ups and fowns but the most important thing is for us to stay focused ahead of the game”.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko heads into the fixture on the back of three wins in the opening 9 as against 5 from the Phobians. The two sides meet at the Accra sports stadium on Monday , May 2, 2016.
