Abubakar Mahadi, a former Hearts of Oak and Medeama SC striker has tipped four clubs to challenge for the Ghana Premier League trophy this season.
According to the 22-year old forward who currently plays for Sông Lam Nghệ An F.C in the Vietnamese top flight league, his two former teams- Hearts of Oak and Medeama SC will be among the teams to vie for the title along with top of the table Wa All Stars and Struggling Asante Kotoko.
Speaking exclusively to SportsCrusader.com from his base in Vietnam, Mahadi indicated that he has followed the league with keen interest and is convinced the four teams will be the ones the beat this season.
“Hearts of Oak, Wa All Stars, Medeama and Kotoko. One of them will win the league”, the former Ghana Under-20 forward stated.
Speaking on the reasons for his pick, the youngster said that the season is still young and people should not rule out Asante Kotoko in particular.
“The league just started and if they [Kotoko] get their rhythm, that should be it. They will do very well”, Mahadi added.
