Hearts Keepers Trainer Praises Soulama

Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeepers’ trainer, Nassam Yakubu has praised the performance of Soulama Abdulaye, stating that the Burkinabe always want to give of his best for the club.

The former Asante Kotoko man returned from international duty to start in post for the Phobians in last Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Techiman City.

Hearts played a 0-0 draw game with Techiman City.

Soulama made a number of impressive saves to help the team pick up a point and speaking to the club’s official website, keeper’s trainer Nassam Yakubu was full of praise for the veteran shot stopper.

“Soulama has always been a very hard working goalkeeper and he always wants to give off his best and that is [exactly] what he did today[Sunday],” Nassam said.

The (man-of-the-match), because if you look at the way he played I think he should have been given the man-of-the-match. But who knows, once it is somebody who will choose, you cannot blame that person for choosing [Baba Mahama].” He added.

Hearts have kept five clean-sheets in eight games in the 2015 /2016 season, but although they conceded three goals last weekend, their defense was impregnable against Techiman City, and Nassam says better defensive concentration contributed to the team not conceding on Sunday.

“I think we did not play well in defense in the previous [AllStars] game but I think today we were a little bit careful and that contributed to us keeping a clean-sheet.” he said
