We Will Bounce Back - Ashgold’s Eric Opoku

AshantiGold S/C captain, Eric Opoku is optimistic his side will bounce back from their humiliating 5-1 defeat at Liberty Professionals on Match Week six of the 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League.

The defending champions’ hopes of retaining their title was dented a big blow by the Scientific Soccer lads who continued with their impressive home form on Sunday afternoon.

Ashgold were second best in every department of the game at the Carle Reindoff Park- a performance that is not befitting their status as defending champions.

And Speaking to the press after the contest, captain of Ashgold and reigning Ghana Premier League Most Valuable Player said his side will bounce back from their disappointment.

“We congratulate Liberty because they played to gallery and defeated us. But that is football. Sometimes you, and at times you lose”, Eric Opoku said

“I think all is not lost. We still have more matches to play so we have to go back and prepare for the next game.

“We are going to the drawing board to look at what went wrong so that we can correct them in our next game at home.

“We have to win to compensate our fans for the disappointment of today’s defeat” H e added.

The defeat see Ashgold 11th on the league log with 7 points and will next play Dreams FC at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.
