Alhaji Akanbi Hails Hearts New Signings

Board Member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Alhaji Akanbi has praised the performances of the club’s new recruits ahead of the kick off of the Ghana Premier League on February 20.

According to the former Hearts Supporters chief, this year’s recruitment has been by far the best that the club has done under the Board chairmanship of Togbe Afede XIV.

Hearts of Oak in the off season embarked on an intensive recruitment exercise to augment their squad from last season following a hugely disappointing campaign.

The Accra based club signed Former Liberty Professionals captain Mustapha Essuman, Cosmos Dauda from Mighty jet, Goalkeeper Samuel Akrugu from Sekondi Hasaacas and Samuel Yeboah from relegated Hearts of Lions.

The Phobians also beat several top flight teams to the signature of GN Bank Division League best player of the 2014/15 season, Samudeen Ibrahim from King Solomon FC.

Kenichi Yatsuhashi’s team had a slow start in their pre-season but have progressed steadily with time, winning against newly promoted Premier League side Dreams FC in two trial matches last Sunday.
