AshGold to Train at Tema Ahead of Algeria Trip

Ghana Premier League side Ashanti Gold SC will begin preparations towards the second leg of their CAF Champions League tie against M.O. Bejaia at the Tema Park for on February 23.


The move is aimed at ensuring that Ghana’s sole representatives in Africa’s Premier club football competition familiarize themselves with the artificial surface at the venue since the reverse fixture of the assignment will be played on an astroturf.


The Obuasi based club are expected to fly to Algeria with a 20-man squad on February 25 via Turkey ahead of the game at the Unite’ Maghrebine in Bejaia on February 28.


The Soccer Miners will go into the second leg against the Algerians with a 1-0 win secured, courtesy a 60th minute strike by Joshua Tijani at the Len Clay on Sunday.


Ashgold will have to progress to at least the Money Zone of the CAF Champions League for Ghana to stand any chance of an increment in the number of slots in continental football.
