The Operations Manager of Asante Kotoko, George Kennedy has told Kotoko fans to expect nothing less than a victory from the Sogakope sports stadium Saturday.
Asante Kotoko will visit West Africa Football Academy in Sogakope for their first league match of the new premier league season and fans will be expecting a good start to avoid last year’s failure.
“The fans of Kotoko should expect a win,” George Kennedy told sportscrusader.com
David Duncan will be without the services of Jackson Owusu who broke his tibia last weekend. The former Berekum Chelsea midfielder has been bashed and tagged unprofessional by fans and some section of the media for playing a Sunday special barley a week to the start of the season.
George Kennedy wants fans to render all the support he needs in prayers to come back stronger.
“[Reports that Jackson Owusu will be sanctioned] are just speculations,” he said
Adding that “Management has not taken any decision for now and I will not say that we’re going to sanction him even though it is stated in his contract that he is not allowed to train or play any game apart from being with Kotoko and he went contrary to his contract, but for the meantime, I think we should think of the Injury and pray for him to recover faster.
“A healing process mostly depends on the things that you hear, and the things that you see…so I will say for now, let’s not be thinking of how he will be punished. We should stop the chastising and pray for him for the healing process to be faster.
“That should be our ultimate… he is not supposed to have (played unofficial match) and he did; there’s nothing we can do. Let’s pray for him and hope for the best.” He said.
