Accra Hearts of Oak has called on the Ghana Football Association to ensure its subcommittees mandated to attend to cases brought before th FA are expedited for the smooth running of Ghana football.
Legal issues before the FA delayed the commencement of the of the league for second season in succession, and unhappy Hearts of Oak wants the subcommittee to stamp their authority decisions they reach.
“The subcommittee under the GFA must be seen to be firm and act quickly on cases that will be brought to their doorsteps devoid of ambiguity that will lead to any misunderstanding and cause the smooth progress of Ghana football,” Braimah Atuahene said at the Club’s secretariat during the unveiling of their jersey for the season.
Referees are key to the success of the game, and Braimah Atuahene admonished that referees should be fair and firm during their duties.
“The league last season was bedeviled by some bad officiating which led to some disturbances at various league centres and the Phobian club was also at the receiving end of some bad decisions which to a large extent had a toll on the team’s performance, we do not want a repeat of such act this season.
“Last season players like Godwin Attram among others complained bitterly about referees performance to the extent that some threatened to quit the game for good because of refereeing, such act does not augur well for the game at all, referees must live above reproach this season.” He said.
