Bukom Banku still eyes world title before retirement in six years

Ghanaian boxer Braimah Kamoko insists he still has dreams of becoming a world champions before he retires in the next six years.

The 37-year-old retained his unbeaten record with a 6th knockout win over Ayittey Powers on Sunday dawn in a non-title bout.

Nicknamed, Bukom Banku, Kamoko’s professional record now stands at 27-0-0 but most of his bouts have been against opponents near home.

Many feel a world title potential in Banku has been lost with his inability to challenge himself against some of the best fighters in his division.

But the controversial boxer remains confident he will become world champions before he retires.

”I am 37 years and want to end my career in six years after a bout in Tamale,” he said after clinching the knockout win over Ayittey Powers.

“My next move is to fight Nathan Cleverly for the world title.”
