Berekum Chelsea Coach Happy With Results At Obuasi

Berekum Chelsea trainer Solomon Odwo has expressed his satisfaction at earning a point away to the wounded Ashgold at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium last Saturday.

The experienced trainer for the 2010/11 league champions cited inexperience as one of the reasons for their poor start to the season but has pledged to arrest the away form very soon.

The Brong Ahafo based premier league side held the reigning champions Ashgold to a 0-0 thriller in Obuasi and their trainer believes it was a fair reflection of proceedings at the Len Clay Park.

Berekum Chelsea managed a paltry 16 wins in the 105 away fixtures honoured since joining the top flight but their head coach shielded his players from media backlash as the search for away win continues since July last year.

Solomon Odwo however pledged to fix the slum when his players gel as a unit and get used to rudiments of playing in the top division.

“We have a lot of young players and most of them have not tasted the premier league before. We still have a lot of work to do on these boys but so far they are picking up. It is not easy playing away home and picking points like that”, the Blues trainer told reporters.

Solomon Odwo then shielded his players from further media backlash citing Ashgold as the under pressure side to win the match.

“Ashgold needed a win seriously after their defeat in Algeria. I said earlier on that our worst was going to be a drawn game here and I thank my boys for working it out”, Solomon Odwo concluded.

Berekum Chelsea has since lost both away matches played in the 2016 domestic league whiles picking maximum point in their only home fixture honoured at their favourite Sunyani Coronation Park on match day two.

The 2010/11 GPL champions added former Ghana Youth international Saddick Adams to their ranks after losing last season’s FCPPL top scorer Kofi Owusu to the exodus bus.
