Derby Delight For Osei Bonsu In Bostwana

Ghanaian defender Godwin Osei Bonsu played his best of the season for Gaborone United at home to Township Rollers in the Gaborone derby on Saturday night.


The former Hearts of Oak centre back formed a pillar at the back for United as they earned a well deserved derby bragging right against cross town rivals Township Rollers.


The robust centre back was fired at the start of the campaign by the Bemobile outfit but has since been recalled upon persistent pressure from the club’s teaming fans.


New Argentine trainer for Gaborone United Rudulfo Zapata named Osei Bonsu in his starting XI at the expense of the club captain Seon Senyen for the derby day showdown and his Ghanaian centre look to have sealed his place in the Argentine’s plans for the rest of the season.


Osei Bonsu thanked his new trainer for the reposed confidence with his best ever turn out for United as they dispatched their cross town rivals in a well deserved 1-0 to pick the fifth slot in Botswana.


Gaborone United earlier on parted ways with Godwin Osei Bonsu and Charles Appiah at the start of the season but persistent pressure from the club’s official fan based forced the club to recall Osei Bonsu and the Ghanaian has been a re-born centre back in the Bemobile and is gunning for a place in the team of the season slot.
