Don"t Blame The GFA For Players Revolt

The Vice-Chairman of the Black Stars management Committee, Wilfred Osei Palmer has mentioned that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) should not be blamed, should the players revolt against the reported bonus slash by Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS).

Newly appointed Sports Minister, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has since his appointment been vocal on the US$10,000 winning bonus for the players and in his recent rant, admitted the amount is on the high side and will be reviewed beginning with the upcoming AFCON 2017 qualifier against Mozambique.

Osei Palmer, speaking on the topic said the approach by the minister to address the issue through the media and not sit around the negotiation table with the Committee members was wrong and might spell doom for all.

He said, “no one should blame the GFA if the stars revolt against the reported bonus slash as the MOYS has not made any contact with the Committee.”

“if there’s any reduction or intention to slash the bonus then there will be the need to communicate with or to the committee. When the players are in town it will be right thing to sit and discuss it (bonus),” he added.
