Berekum Chelsea centre forward, Saddick Adams has called on the Ghana Football Association to get a sponsor for the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
The 2015/16 season began about four weeks ago without a headline sponsor after First Capital Plus Bank now Capital Bank suspended their sponsorship responsibilities.
Clubs are financially handicapped, and Saddick Adams wants the football governing body to get a sponsor to lessen the financial burden on the Clubs.
“I want to appeal to the GFA that they should do their best to secure sponsorship for the league in order to lessen the financial burden on the clubs,” the former youth international told Cape Coast – based ATL FM.
Saddick Adams also reckon that players who returned to the local league have played a massive role in the boom that has accompanied this year’s league.
“It is true that the GPL is now attractive but I will attribute it to the involvement of us (the experienced) players because most of the fans come to the stadium’s because of us,” He said.
