Al Hilal versatile defender, Abeiku Ainooson has called on fans of Kotoko to fill the Baba Yara stands on Friday to cheer the team to victory.
Asante Kotoko are struggling to regain the rhythm that won them the GHALCA Six invitational tournament in Sekondi in pre-season.
They’ve lost two and drawn two of their four league matches and are in a relegation dog fight early on in the season.
Fans of the Porcupine Warriors are frustrated at the abysmal start to this year’s campaign, and Ainooson who left Asante Kotoko during the off-season, has called on fans to cheer the team this evening to beat Hasaacas.
He believes a win tonight will change the fortunes of the club for the rest of the season.
“The fans are an integral part of the success of Kotoko. They should throng into the stadium in their numbers and support the team for 90 minutes,” Ainoosen told Kumasi based Otec FM.
“Kotoko is all that we’ve got and must not let the club down despite the poor start to the season. A win against Hasaacas will change a lot of things.
“Moreover, the situation was almost the same last year but through hard work and togetherness, we were able to finish the season on a high, placing second in the end.
“All is not lost, it’s just four games gone and situations can change if supporters help the team like they did for us last season,” He said.
