Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) chairmanship aspirant, Kofi Poku has promised to change the image of Association if given the mandate.
GHALCA, the mother body of all league clubs in Ghana, will go to the polls on April 21 to elect new officers for the Association.
Nominations forms were made available for interested candidates in the various positions at the Association, and Kofi Poku threw has his hat into the chairmanship race.
According to the vice chairman of the FA Cup Committee, clubs in the Association have benefited nothing, and this, he wants to change.
Speaking to sportscrusader.com after filing his nomination forms for the chairmanship post at the offices of GHALCA on Monday, Kofi Poku said, he was ready for the take off and has a lot offer the Association.
“I have filed my nomination and that means I have the intent to run for the chairmanship post of GHALCA,” he said..
“There is a lot that I have to offer GHALCA, but the first thing is been honest with our club men,” he assured.
“And to be honest to all our club men, I think we haven’t done our best and I don’t think that clubs have really gotten what they are supposed to have gotten from GHALCA, in terms of we helping the clubs,” Mr. Poku, the director of Unicorn Travel and Tours said.
he added, “We need to re-brand GHALCA. That’s the first thing I intend to do”.
“If I am talking about re-branding GHALCA, it’s about getting our membership to have great confidence in us,” he said.
“And that’s difficult if we have to do it. So my team (if voted into office), I will have to let them understand that we need to regain that confidence that they had in the Ghana League Clubs Association before we can share our ideas with them,” he promised.
“If we are not able to let them understand the kind of vision that we have, it will be difficult for them to follow us,” he noted.
