Ghana is Ready For African Chess Championship - General Secretary

The General Secretary of Ghana Chess Association (GCA), Madam Christine Ashley, has said her outfit is ready to  host the African Chess Tournament, which is scheduled to commence later in the month.


 


The event which is scheduled to take place on March 28 to April 06, 2016, will see various players across the  continent competing for the ultimate prize of being tagged the “Master of Chess”.


In an interview with sportscrusader.com,  Madam Ashley said, “we have held series of meetings to put things in place for the championship to kick start.


“We have also receive a lot of support from the Africa Chess Association (ACA) as they have provided us the necessary logistical support for the competition. I am convinced it will be a success.”


The General Secretary further appealed to the media to provide adequate publicity for the upcoming event in order to enhance knowledge of people on the sport, so as to achieve an overall success in the upcoming tournament.
