Ghana’s Under 17 women’s national team, the Black Maidens thrashed their Moroccan counterpart by four goals to nil in the first leg of their final FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifier on Saturday.
The result meant that Ghana has taken a giant step toward the 2016 FIFA Women’s Championship which is scheduled to take place in Jordan later this year.
A brace, either side of a Rafiatu Alhassan’s 14th minute strike, by Mukarama Abdulai in the 3rd and 21st minute of the ensured that the Black Maidens took control of the game in Rabat.
Sandra Owusu Ansah completed the thumping by firing home a fourth goal for the Maidens in the 70th minute.
Ghana will play host to Morocco in Accra in a fortnight for the second leg of the encounter.
