Hearts Begins Schools Football Clinic

Ghana’s Premier football club, Accra Hearts of Oak has chalked another first in the history of the Ghanaian game by taking the club to the door steps of the public.


On Wednesday, the club scored another first by visiting the Accra New Town (ANT) 6&8 basic schools to interact with the pupils and introduce what Accra Hearts of Oak represents.


DSC_1385Deputy Captain, Owusu Bempah, Mustapha Essuman and Sabahn Laryea were accompanied by Corporate Affairs manager, Joseph Addo and Coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi for this special project initiated by the club.


This project is targeted at letting children know about the history of the club, its traditions and culture with the aim of inculcating the spirit in them for them to grow with and stay on as Phobians forever.


The club has stressed that this will be a continuous affair which will be held ahead of every home game in Accra and spread later to the regions when it gains a foothold.


In the interaction with the pupils of the ANT 6&8 schools, they took turns to ask the Hearts contingent questions about the team and their careers which were duly announced.


DSC_1501Coach Keni stressed on the need for the children to take their lessons serious and focus to get to the end of their dreams as they aspire to attain excellent heights.


It was an occasion to introduce some of the club’s players to the pupils with deputy captain, Owusu Bempah urging those who aspire to be footballer to strive to combine that with their education which he stressed, will carry them far.


Essuman and Laryea also advised them to always keep a positive mindset as they develop and hoped that they will grow with the Hearts of Oak spirit imbibed in them.


DSC_1386Later, Coach Keni and the players engaged the children in a few soccer drills which were highly entertaining for them.


Assistant head of the school, Albert Kujo Adiku thanked the Hearts of Oak management for taking this venture to bring the club to the doorsteps of the people and believed that it would have a positive influence in the lives of the children.
