Accra Hearts of Oak legend, Mohammed Polo says he made a lot of coaches great during his playing career in Ghana.
Mohammed Polo, regarded as the best player ever to wear the rainbow colours, was an integral member of the Accra Hearts of Oak of the 1970s.
He was voted the fourth best player in the continent in 1977 and was one Ghana’s stand out players during the 1978 Africa Cup of nations which was held in Ghana.
He believes his contribution on the pitch made his coaches the best in the West Africa country, but they had no hand in his development.
Speaking to Yanke FM, the former Hearts of Oak coach said:
“Yes my coaches didn’t make me who I am now but i made them the best in Ghana football.”
Explaining further why coaches played no role in development, the outspoken coach said:
“There are percentages for everybody to make a player who he is, but the player who works very hard plays some important role for a coach.” He noted.
Mohammed Polo has not hidden his interest to coach Kumasi Asante Kotoko should management axe David Duncan.
