Rahim Ayew Eyes Future Coaching Role

Ghana international Rahim Ayew has disclosed that he has plans of going into coaching after retiring from active football.

According to the former Kotoko defender, although he has not called time on his playing career yet, he is considering his options and its just a matter of time before he start his coaching badges.

Speaking to Sports24 TV following his father’s club, Nania FC’s 1-1 draw with Tema Youth at the Tema Sports Stadium last Saturday, Rahim Ayew stated that football has been part of him and coaching is one of plans for the future.

“I am from a football family and I don’t see myself doing any other thing in future aside football. I will always be in football and that is what I will continue to do for the rest of my life”, Rahim Ayew said.

“I am still active but you never know. If nothing else is happening in life, you look at plan B.

“You don’t have to wait till you retire before you start asking yourself questions. Whiles you ask yourself questions, you should wake up and answer those questions in the form of looking for alternative plans.

“My plan B is to be on the bench and still be in football. I will do my course soon. I wouldn’t wait till I retire before I do the coaching course” the versatile defender added.

Rahim Ayew was part of the Technical team of Nania FC when they traveled to the Tema Sports Stadium to draw 1-1 with Tema Youth ON Match Day two of the GN Bank Division One League.
