Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Premier League Board (PLB), Tamimu Issah has called on fans to comport themselves when they visit the Accra Sports Stadium on 2 May when Hearts of Oak face sworn rivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League topmost liner of the Match-Day 10 games.
Supporters of Ghana’s two most glamorous football clubs are noted for their difficulty in accepting results when the two teams face each other and this got the organisers to hold a special meeting of the security arrangement for the upcoming clash.
Mr Issah after the first of the series of stakeholders meeting called on fans of both teams to be tolerant on the day before, during and after the game.
He said, “we (PLB) pray and hope the expected fans of 30,000 – 35,000 understand there are only three possible outcomes to a game – a win, draw or lose and they should accept whatever result that may come their way.”
“As a nation, we will be divided by our club affiliations and we have got to take things easy as we are brothers from one environment who have gathered at one place to support our team, therefore, we have to comport ourselves and make the job of the security personnel easy on the match day,” he added.
