The Ghana Football Association and the Premier League Board has officially launched the 2016 premier league season.
The launch, which took place at the Ghana Football Association headquarters in Accra on Wednesday, saw a host club administrators representing their clubs at the event.
All the 16 premier league clubs representatives were present, as the program was chaired by the Vice-President of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie.
The commencement of the 2016 Ghana premier league was delayed due legal tussle between Wa African United and and Techiman City.
But the FA has given the all clear for Techiman City to play in the league whilst the adjudicating body continue to deliberate on the issue of alleged match-fixing, paving the way for the league to start as scheduled by the organisers of the league.
And Wednesday’s launching means the road is now clear for the commencement of the domestic top-flight championship which will start on Saturday February 20.
Chairman of the event, George Afriyie called on the media to desist from creating negative impression of the league as that makes it difficult to attract potential sponsors.
He also promised that the FA us doing all they can to secure a sponsor for the league.
Clubs presented their home and away jerseys for the season.
