The Director of Communications of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Ibrahim Saanie Daara has revealed that his outfit are in talks with several companies over the sponsorship of the Ghana Premier League.
The Ghanaian top flight league is currently without a headline sponsor following a decision by Ghanaian Banking firm, First Capital Plus [Capital Bank] to suspend their sponsorship, less than two years after signing a five-year sponsorship deal with the GFA.
It is still unclear whether Capital Bank will resume their sponsorship of the GPL but speaking on Asempa FM in Accra, Ibrahim Saanie Daara has revealed that the GFA are in talks with some firms to sponsor the league.
According to him, there are about five companies who are interested in taking over the sponsorship iof the league and discussions are far advanced.
Mr. Saanie Daara also revealed that new companies interested in sponsoring the league are free to contact the GFA.
