Tony Baffoe Delighted with GPL Kick off

Founder and President of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG), Anthony Baffoe has expressed excitement ahead of the start of the Ghana Premier League season.

The 2015/2016 Premier League season is scheduled to kick off on Saturday February 20 at the Sogakope Park with the West African Football Academy hosting giants Asante Kotoko.

Defending champions AshGold will kick start the defense of their league title at home against Medeama, a side that defeated the Ghana Super Cup with Hearts of Oak welcoming New Edubiase to the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday February 21.

It’s been four months since football was last kicked in Ghana’s domestic league and with just six days to the start of a new campaign, Anthony Baffoe could not hide his excitement.

“I am happy that its finally going to start I was in Dawu to watch Dreams and Hearts of Oak the stadium was filled to capacity,” the former Black Stars player told Citi SPORTS.

“Buts it very important we place emphasis on security and match organization. I can see that people are itching for the Premier League season and I hope we have improved attendance on match venues.” He added.
