I"ll Quit Football If... - Arsenal Club Owner

Football administrator and club owner of Berekum Arsenal, Alhaji Yakubu has revealed he will quit football should the verdict from the appeals committee reviewing the case filed by Techiman City suggest reinstatement of the club.

The Ethics committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) ruled on the bribery allegation that was brought before it involving Techiman City and Wa Africa united when the two teams were competing in the GN Bank 2014/15 season.

Wa Africa United alleged through club owner, Nana Gyamerah Kwabena Yiakwan II to have been offered an amount of Two thousand Ghana cedis (Ghc2000) by Techiman Cty to play a match of convenience in the week 22 fixture involving the two teams.

The ruling had delayed the start to the 2015/16 season and looks set to even prolong it longer after Techiman City filed a stay of execution with the Appeals committee as the club denied the allegations and threatened to fight

the case with all the legal tools available.

Alhaji Moro’s side, Berekum Arsenal finished who finished the DOL in third place in zone 3 has been vocal calling for the demotion of Techiman City to be adhered to and not be allowed to participate in the league as they believe it will unfair on the other teams.

Alhaji said, “The Techiman City- Wa Africa United case has been on since September, 2015 and the attitude the GFA has shown to the issue proves the association does not care about the sport.”

“I will make a decision on my affiliation with football based on the verdict from the appeals committee who has been petitioned by Techiman City to review the ethics committee ruling that demoted both teams (Techiman city and Wa Africa united) to division two.

“I will quit football if the correct ruling s not meted out to Techiman City”.
