Algerian clubs has had their way over Ghanaian Clubs in CAF inter-club football competitions — Confederation Cup and Champions League of late, and MO Bejaia Zahir Zerdad is optimistic they they will knock AshGold out of the CAF’s champions league despite suffering a 1-0 at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium on Sunday.
The Algerian side who are currently third on their league log after 20 matches suffered a 1 nil defeat courtesy Tijani Joshua’s second half strike.
But the skipper of the side, is optimistic the Ghanaian champions will fall in the second leg.
“Ashanti Gold is a good team, they have good players but in the second leg they will fall in Algeria, we will beat them in our home because there will a different pitch and different climate condition,” Zahir Zedrad said defeat in Obuasi.
“In Africa when you play at home you have to score two or three goals but if you score only one you will be kicked out of the tournament. So losing 1-0 in Ghana was a good score line and we are happy for our performance,” he added.
The second leg tie will come off on 28 February, 2016 in Algeria.
