Black Maidens Hold Training Session At Prince Mohammed Stadium

The Black Maidens had the official training session at the Prince Mohammed Stadium in Al Zarqa ahead of the 2016 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Jordan.


The tournament I’ll begin on Friday September 30 with the Ghana U-17 female national team set to take on their Japanese counterparts on Saturday.


Coach Augustin Evans Adotey who took the team through Thursday evenings training session at the match venue, says that his team is still preparing for the game against the defending Champions.


“Ghana is here for a purpose and we still continuing preparations for the tournament and for our opening match against Japan who Aretha defending Champions” , Coach Adotey said at the pre-match press conference organized by FIFA at the match venue.


Ghanaian youngster Fuseina Mumuni, who was amongst the youngest players at the 2014 edition of the U-17 World Cup also expressed her happiness for making a second appearance at the competition.


“Am so proud to be at my second World Cup and to represent my country again. I hope this second time is going to be the best for me. My colleagues and I are going to do our best to make Ghana proud at this World Cup”, the Lepo Ladies midfielder said.


Japanese coach Nyoki Kusunose who was also at the press conference admitted that though he knows very little about the Ghanaian team, we will try to do our best against them on Saturday.


The match is scheduled to kick off at 16:00pm local time (1:00pmGMT).
