Championship: Jordan Ayew Opens Season Account For Villa

England-based Black Stars forward, Jordan Ayew, officially opened his season’s account for Aston Villa in a 1-1 drawn game at Barnsley.


The tricky attacker handed his struggling side a 61st minute lead to cap an explosive performance for the London-based side before Sam Winnal denied Aston Villa on the stroke of full time.


Ayew rounded off one of his personal best performances for Aston Villa with a fully deserved goal after a series of near misses.


The former Olympique Marseille attacker made a promising start with a flurry of goals in the off-season but has since failed to replicate that form in the Championship.


Aston Villa extended it’s worst start to any league season with one win in the opening 10 matches played.


London-born Ghana international, Albert Adomah, enjoyed 87 minutes for Roberto Di Matteo’s men before making way for the fast improving Rudy Gestede
