GPL: Tony Yeboah Slams Ghana FA Boss

Former Ghana international, Tony Yeboah has slammed the President of the Ghana Football Association(GFA)  over comments he made some years ago about referees accepting bribe but doing the right thing with regards to officiating in the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

The ex-national star, who made 59 appearances for the Black Stars supported the assertion of the GPL being “unattractive”, thereby leading to its poor patronage.

The former Kotoko, Cornerstones and Okwahu United goal poacher, severely ran down the GFA boss when given the chance.

He said: “How can the Ghana FA president even tell referees to accept bribes when tempted, but officiate fairly? This is unbelievable and with this and many more, how can the league be attractive?”

The celebrated footballer also reiterated the unfair officiating from referees in the just-ended season with no corresponding punishment that could deter them from the act of receiving bribes.

Even though the season has ended, there are still some outstanding protests which have to be cleared in order to confirm teams which have been relegated from the league.
