Emmanuel Ocran Credits Team mates For Black Stars Call-Up

Wa All Stars attacker, Emmanuel Ocran, has credited his colleagues for his Black Stars invitation.

The speedy attacker lauded the telepathy within Wa All Stars setup for his explosive season and the resultant invitation to the senior national team.

The former Sammin FC forward, received a late invite from head coach, Avram Grant to fill-in for Jordan Ayew ahead of Saturday’s final AFCON Qualifiers at home to Rwanda.

The elated Wa All Stars attacker, however credited his teammates on receiving the call-up.

“Football is not an individual sport and, to be recognised by the national team handlers, all boils down to team work.

“We have been working together all season and to have earned this call-up means a lot to the entire team.

“It is not about Ocran heading to the national team but the team work of Wa All Stars FC getting recognised”, Ocran told Sports Crusader.

The Wa All Stars youngster has registered 6 goals and 4 assists in his 19 appearances for the league leaders, including a blistering treble at home to Dreams FC.

On his part, General Manager of the league leaders, Seth Panwum ‘Boyoyo Boyoyo’, cautioned Ocran to stay grounded and defend the image of the club and the local players at large.

“It is not about Ocran getting a call-up to the national team but a representative of the local league at large.

“Your performance and behaviour will defend the average home-based players in general.

“This is a platform for you to showcase why Wa All Stars are at the summit of the log and to prove your value to the international market”, Panwum told Sports Crusader.

Ocran joins four other home-based players in the Black Stars squad ahead of Saturday’s home tie with Rwanda.
