Breaking: Ghana Drops In FIFA Rankings

The September edition of the men’s football rankings released by football’s World governing body, FIFA , has seen Ghana drop downwards to 43rd position in the world and 5th in Africa.

The four-time Africa Cup of Nations champions were previously ranked 35th in the world and third in Africa, but recent poor results accumulated over the past few days have seen them drop 8 places down.

The Black Stars were held by the Amavubi of Rwanda in the final Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Accra, and were beaten by Russia in an international friendly played in Moscow.

This will come as bad news to football fans in Ghana as the infighting between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ghana Football Association has not been resolved yet to enable the Black Stars succeed in its endeavors.

Ivory Coast occupy the top spot in Africa, closely followed by Algeria with Senegal, Tunisia and Ghana making the top five.

FIFA Africa Rankings:

1 Ivory Coast

2 Algeria

3 Senegal

4 Tunisia

5 Ghana

6 Congo DR

7 Egypt

8 Congo

9 Mali

10 Morocco
