Al Ahli Has Vindicated Me - Gyan

Following reports of his purported failure of a routine medical, causing his potential move to English Championship side, Reading, to fall through, Ghana captain, Asamoah Gyan has not hidden his excitement at passing his Al Ahli medical.

The results of his recent medical at Ahli, however contradicts the outcome of his previous medical at  Reading. Gyan absolutely renders the purported Reading medical failure ‘complete falsehood’ and a spin of the facts of what transpired at the Championship club.

Earlier this week, most media networks carried the story of Gyan’s medical failure leading to the deal being called-off by the English side.

The 31-year-old questioned the professionalism of some journalists who failed to do further checks with regards to the medical he had with Reading.

He said; “I was just about to sign the contract when I heard about a purported medical failure which was a complete falsehood, it necessitated the calling-off of the deal, after all, I was not desperate to find a club, but  I have been vindicated after passing a medical with  Al -Ahli

“Reading wanted me to exempt myself from the national team which I found inappropriate, considering how helpful the Black Stars has been to me, so it led to a little argument which ended up in the deal being called-off.”

Gyan also confirmed that he will not be part of the team, ahead of the final encounter against Rwanda in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier and the friendly against 2018 World Cup host, Russia.
