Despite the Ghana Premier League(GPL) title race effectively being over, another battle which is rightfully attracting huge interest, is that among those clubs which are threatened by relegation.
The battle is made intriguing by the fact that, each team will just about do any and everything to prevent the drop and ensure survival.
This year’s scenario brings to us, five potential candidates, of which one is likely to join already relegated Sekondi Hasaacas and New Ebubiase who will certainly feature in the 2016/17 Division One League.
The five potential candidates include; Liberty Professionals, Berekum Chelsea, Inter Allies, Techiman City and Ebusua Dwarfs. Each of which will be hopeful of winning its respective match to remain in the league.
Below is an analysis of the relegation matches on matchday 30;
Aduana Stars VS Inter Allies
One of the flashpoints of the relegation battle is Dormaa where Aduana Stars will play Inter Allies who are vying to stay in the league.
Inter Allies have 37 points and are three places above the relegation zone. They would draw motivation from the fact that, a win for them will ensure automatic survival in the league. It will be an interesting fixture, as their counterpart, Aduana, lost in their quest to win the GPL trophy after they were beaten by eventual winners, Wa All Stars.

Chelsea VS Techiman City
This match will be one of the keenly-contested matches in the relegation struggle as the loser of this match could drop into the relegation zone with 90 percent certainty.
Both teams are tied with 37 points and, a win for either side will grant them survival. Chelsea have good home record going into the game and are favorites to win the match.
Prediction: Chelsea 1 Techiman City 1
Liberty Professionals VS Bechem United
Nothing else apart from a win for the Scientific Soccer lads will be disastrous, following their (Liberty Professionals)’s keenness to remain in next year’s Premier League class.
They take on Bechem United who are virtually safe in the league. Liberty are third from bottom with 35 points and would be very hopeful of a win, ahead of their encounter especially on home turf.
Prediction: Liberty 3 Bechem United 0
Dreams VS Dwarfs
Dreams confirmed their survival in the league after clinching the 40-point safety bar when they drew against Bechem United last week.
Dwarfs, after thumping New Ebubiase in the last match, are still engaged in the relegation fight and will need to win in order to survive the league.
Prediction: Dreams 0 Dwarfs 1
