GPL Week 29 Round Up: Champions And Goal Harvests

Wa All Stars have won the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League trophy after they defeated fellow title contenders, Aduana Stars by 2-1, under dramatic circumstances in Wa.


All Stars opened the scoring in the early stages of the game but Aduana came back strongly with an equaliser. A penalty awarded to Wa All Stars was saved by  Aduana Stats’ goal Keeper.


All Stars were awarded a penalty late in the second half, which enabled them secure all three points and, having a better head-to-head record against Aduana Stars having defeated them by a goal to nil in their first encounter.


Hearts of Oak were beaten by Medeama SC after a sublime strike from Kwesi Donsu in the 80th Minute.


Ashanti Gold defeated Kotoko by 5-3 in a fascinating game at the Obuasi stadium. Ebusua Dwarfs staked their claim to remain in Ghana’s top flight.


Techiman moved up from the relegation zone after defeating Sekondi Hasaacas by 2-0 in Techiman, with Hasaacas dropping further deep into relegation.
