Coach of the Black Stars, Avram Grant has directed his frustration towards football’s world governing body, FIFA, as regards the timing of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers to be played this weekend, considering the fact that, the transfer window was just shut, during which many players were distracted.
A number of players called-up for the Rwanda clash which includes Christian Atsu, Jeffery Schulpp, Jordan Ayew and Ebenezer Essifuah, could not make it for the team’s last qualifier for reasons that can be attributed to transfer issues and injuries sustained during the early stages of the season.
He said; “I have discussed with coaches around the world, FIFA needs to change this policy, the games they organize at the start of September is not good, because players are looking for clubs so they are not able to concentrate, which demonstrate a clear case distraction.
“But nonetheless, they have brought some policies that has really helped the game and i have to congratulate them.”
Meanwhile, the Black Stars will today hold their final training session today at the Accra Sports Stadium, ahead of the last match of the Africa Cup Of Nations qualifiers against Rwanda on Saturday, September 3, 2016.
