Coach of the Black Stars, Avram Grant, has reiterated the need for all and sundry to support the senior national team ahead of the upcoming crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers that kick-starts next month.

Post-Brazil 2014, many a Ghanaian fan have seemingly lost the affection they had for the team, in the wake of the infamous ‘Black Stars Winning Bonus Saga’.
The Israeli trainer lamented the poor fan turn-up in the one-all drawn game between the Black Stars and the Amavubi of Rwanda. The last qualifier of the 2017 CAF Africa Cup of Nations was played in a virtually empty Accra Sports Stadium.
He said; “We play football for the fans, but I can understand them after the negative publicity the Black Stars have sustained over the past few years.
“But I will plead with them not to focus on the negative things and be positive towards the Black Stars.”
In recent comments, Grant has narrowed his focus to making history by qualifying Ghana to the semi-final of a FIFA World Cup tournament, a feat no African country has ever achieved.
Ghana will kick-start her 2018 World Cup qualification campaign in October with a double header against the Cranes of Uganda(2nd October) and the Pharaohs of Egypt (6th October) respectively.
