Romania: Muniru Sulley Shows Class As Steau Progresses

Muniru Sulley maintained his impeccable form for Steaua Bucharest as they zoomed into the last four of the domestic FA cup.

The attacking midfielder showed his class in a crucial 0-2 away triumph at Botosani in the Ligii Romania.

The 24-year-old marked his full return to the side after an injury lay-off with another explosive display to put his side on track for their title defence.

Goals from Alex Tudovie and Ovidu Popescu put the holders’ hopes of defending their title back on track despite a routine caution for their Ghanaian import.

Muniru and his Steaua colleagues won the trophy last year and could be heading back to the podium if they can avoid defeat in their semis clash in a fortnight’s.

  1. Steaua Bucharest bowed out of the UEFA Champions League at the last play-off stage, thanks to an Aguero-inspired defeat at the hands of Guardiola’s City.
