Coach of the senior national team of Ghana, Avram Grant has applauded the initiative behind the Vodafone Unity match that took center stage in the capital Accra on Saturday.
The match intended to foster peace and unity among Ghanaians ahead of the upcoming General Elections later in the year. 
Former Nigerian International Yakubu Ayigbeni scored a memorable goal for the World XI side that was the highlight of the afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In a post match interview, Coach Grant said; “It very nice to participate in a game like this with the purpose of peace”.
“The concept of football players shaking hands and showing their solidarity on the field, shows how peace is utmost importance in the scheme of things, irrespective of the diversity in opinions.”
