Wa All Stars Captain Defiant Despite Kotoko Defeat

Talismanic captain for Wa All Stars Hafiz Adams remains bullish about his side’s chances in the championship after their 1-0 defeat at Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The energetic right back ruled out any monumental setback on his side’s long term aspiration of winning the Ghana Premier League at the end of the season.

The ambitious right back played down the first defeat suffered by the league leaders in six matches but called for quick response from his team mates ahead of the Ashgold clash at the Wa Park.

A 68 minute header from captain Amos Frimpong won the game for the Reds at the Baba Yara Sports stadium to end the unbeaten run of Wa All Stars in the division.

Speaking to www.sportscrusader.com after the defeat at the Baba Yara Hafiz Adams allayed any fears haboured by the teaming fans of the club.

“Football is a game of chances and to have lost to Kotoko cannot be the end of the season for us. We played our usual game and won applause from the crowd away from home even in defeat. We will response as usual and this cannot be the end of our season or dent our chances of lifting the trophy at the end of the season. We are WA ALL Stars and fear none in the league”, Hafiz Adams said.

Wa All Stars maintain top spot in the division even after the defeat but will need to avoid defeat at home to Ashgold to consolidate their place atop of the division.
