High-flying Black Stars forward, Jordan Ayew, made a losing start to life in the English Championship with a 1-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday. The Aston Villa hitman lasted 90 minutes but could not rescue a point for the London side in the opening matches of the season.
Ghana duo of Jeff Schlupp and Daniel Amartey missed out on the Community Shield after suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United. Schlupp enjoyed the last 10 minutes of the EPL’s curtain -raiser, while Amartey watched from the stands.
At the new Olympic Stadium in London, Juventus earned a 2-3 vital win over West Ham United in a game that saw Kwadwo Asamoah play 70 minutes for the Bianconneris.
Elsewhere at the St Mary’s, Innaki Williams continued his rehabilitation for Athletic Bilbao as they slumped to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Southampton.

In the Swedish Allsvenkan League, Kwame Bonsu dropped to the bench for Gefle as they halted their poor run with a priceless 2-3 away win at Helsinborg.
Enock Kwakwa kept his place in the Falkenborg line-up that slumped to a humiliating 0-5 defeat against Jonkonpings.
Utility midfielder, Enock Adu Kofi, added to the fans at the Malmo complex as they eased past AIK Solna with Ghanaian pair of Patrick Kpodzo and Ebenezer Ofori as opposition. Kpodzo left after 34 minutes due to injury, whiles Ofori lasted 64 minutes, picking yet another caution.
Nasir Mohamed made an injury return to the BK Hacken line-up for the last 10 minutes of the six-goal thriller away to Elfsborg. Baba Mensah kept his place in the stands whiles Mohammed Abu lasted the full throttle.

Former WAFA SC celebrated wide man, Samuel Tetteh, kept his consistency in front of goal with another beauty in a 4-2 win for Leifering at home to LASK. Tetteh joined the Austrian Bundesliga II side from WAFA and had since bagged two goals in three fixtures. Compatriot pair of Gideon Mensah and Lawrence Atti Ziggi, played 46 and 90 minutes respectively.
Belgium
Benjamin Tetteh was missing from the Standard Liege side that breezed past Sint Tridin in the PRO League whiles Dutch-born Ghanaian defender, Mitch Appau, lasted the painful 90 minutes for Westerlo in a 3-0 defeat at Lokoren.
Frank Opoku Acheampong could not add to his goal tally for Anderlecht in their festival of goals at home to Kortrij. The Black Stars forward lasted 90 minutes for Anderlecht, same as defender, Dennis Appiah. Promoted youngster, Emmanuel Adjei Sowah, could not gate crash into the 18-man matchday squad.
Nana Akwesi Asare was missing for Gent as they picked a crucial win over a Genk side that had Bernard Yaw Kumordzi playing the last time 16 minutes for the visitors.
Defender, Yakubu Issahaku, kept his place in the Lierse setup in a 2-2 away drawn game at Roesalelare.
Norway
Mahatma Otoo and Gilbert Koomson could not prevent Sogndal from dropping points in the Ellersteran league despite Otoo’s aesthetically-driven goal for Sogndal.
Goalkeeper, Adam Larson Kwarasey, almost cost his side valuable points in a seven-goal thriller away to Lillestrom. The Rosenberg custodian shipped three late goals in a 3-4 away win for the visitors.
Ghana duo of Ernest Asante and Kamal Issah, suffered another home defeat with Staebik in a 0-1 win for Haugesand. Asante lasted 90 minutes while Kamal was sacrificed in the last six minutes.
Edwin Gyasi saw 77 minutes for Aalesund as they stunned Tronso on the road to get their season back on track.
Finland
Anthony Annan and Richard Gadze stole a point for HJK at home to Lahti after an opening nightmare. Annan lasted the full 90 minutes whiles Richard left the pitch after 52 minutes.
Nomadic forward, Ransford Osei, came on in the last 24 minutes for Rops.
Elsewhere, former Wa All Stars defender, Joseph Adjei, saw 60 minutes of action for Cape Town FC in a 3-0 spanking.
