Nii Lantey - FA "Feud" Excites Me

Member of the Black Stars Management Committee, Mr. Ernest Thompson has expressed his happiness about the current conflict between the Minister of Youth and Sports (MoYS), Honourable Nii Lantey Vanderpuije and the Ghana Football Association, describing it as a blessing, because a conflict is a desirable phenomenon.

The past few months have seen some harsh exchanges between the two, using subtle jibes. Many have deemed it unhealthy for the progress of the senior national team, the Black Stars

He told Accra-based Radio Station, Happy Fm, that; “conflicts in itself, is not an undesirable occurrence, but I hope along the line, equal grounds will be reached to solve the situation around, so I’m happy about the on-going conflict.”


He added: “The angle the minister is coming from, considering the cost perceptive of inviting the local players which is very reasonable, but the point of departure arose with the timing of his request because the procedures involved in calling-up foreign players to a match involves a lot.”


The head of the Legal Committee of the GFA, also reiterated the pros and cons of this whole debate and suggested the need for series of intensive meetings between the two bodies so that issues could be resolved amicably.
