Hearts Slammed By Ernest Thompson

Former Board Secretary of Accra Hearts of Oak, Ernest Thompson has slammed the club for the timing of Kenichi Yatsuhashi’s sacking.

Japanese tactician, Kenichi Yatsuhashi, was sacked by the club at the latter part of the first round of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) after guiding the club to the top of the log, but can boast of being the first expatriate coach in the club’s history to leave his post without tasting defeat away from home.

Despite his fine record, he was alleged to have clashed with the club’s management board due to interference in his team selection from the strategic board, which was constituted by the club’s management board to see to the day-to-day affairs of the team.

“The club is suffering from incapability because there’s no stability at the coaching department and this has affected the club in their pursuit to win this season’s league. I think they’ve lost the plot.

“The coach they brought in, doesn’t know much about the team, and in football, you hardly change a coach when the league is still on, you rather manage what you have to the end especially when the coach is churning out good results,” Ernest Thompson declared on Happy FM.

“Though I don’t think they will win the league, I expect them to finish in the top four but it looks as if the team is going down and, again, I will attribute it to the decision they took in changing the coach.

“However, I will wish they place an appreciable position because once a Phobian, always a Phobian and it hurts to see my club in this dire situation.”
