Rugby: Ghanaian International Prepares For League Season

Ghana’s two time Rugby Most Valuable Player (MVP), Hamza Diaba Suleiman is gradually finding his feet for Birmingham & Solihull Rugby Club in preseason ahead of the Midlands National League 3 which kicks starts next month.

The 23 year-old joined Birmingham & Solihull Rugby Club from Kumasi based Conquerors having won the 2015/2016 Rugby Championship in Ghana.


 


The versatile Ghanaian flyer is expected to feature for the Bees in the forthcoming 2016-17 season where he can play in a number of positions.


 


In an interview with Sportscrusader.com from his base in  Birmingham, Hamza expressed his delight of experiencing professional rugby at first hand. He said “The atmosphere here is great! My head of Rugby Peter Glackin and head coach Been Wood together with all the management and players have been really welcoming and very supportive. I never expected this because moving here was full of uncertainties but they have been so welcoming”


 


“Compared to Ghana the standards here is much higher but I am happy in everything one needs to improve and move ahead. The president of Ghana rugby Mr. Herbet Mensah is in constant communication with me and advices me a lot on my diets and how I need to be training as you know he is and ex rugby player himself.”
