Confirmed : Burnley Sign Chelsea Striker

Burnley have completed the signing of Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford on a season-long loan deal.

Bamford

The Clarets announced Bamford’s arrival this morning via their official Twitter account.

Bamford, aged 22, impressed during loan spells in the Championship with Derby County in 2013/14 and Middlesbrough in 2014/15. But he struggled to make his mark during stints with Crystal Palace and Norwich City in which he failed to find the net in a total of 13 Premier League appearances.

The England Under-21 international joined Chelsea from Nottingham Forest in 2012, but is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Blues during his four-and-a-half years on their books.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche had indicated that Bamford’s signing was close to completion after Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to the striker’s parent club at Stamford Bridge.

The Clarets are 14th in the Premier League table, with one win and two defeats from their first three games since winning promotion to the top-flight.
