GPL Preview: Kotoko vs Berekum Chelsea

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will host Berekum Chelsea in a must-win game to boost their chance of winning the league title this season.

The record Ghana Premier League (GPL) champions picked up a valuable one point away against Sekondi Hasaacas when captain, Amos Frimpong scored from the spot to record his 8th goal of the season.

Solomon Odwo’s side started the season so well but have been struggling with the absence of key man, Saddick Adams who is on trials in Europe.

The Blues know a defeat will see them drop into the relegation dog-fight as they are seated in 11th place on 33 points, just four points away from 14th-placed Hasaacas.

Kotoko’s form ahead of this game reads two wins, two draws and a defeat in their last five games, whilst their opponent have fared very bad on the road but Kotoko will be on guard as games between the two sides have been fiercely contested with Chelsea picking four points from Kotoko last season.
