Hearts To Float GH¢ 20M Shares

Ghana Premier League (GPL) giants, Accra Hearts of Oak will float two hundred and twenty million (GH¢ 220M) shares in July, according to Strategic Committee Chairman, Vincent Odotei-Sowah.

Sportscrusader.com reported few weeks ago that the Phobians will open their doors to investors to own part of the club, whilst current shareholders will also be entreated to buy more shares.

The purpose of the shares floatation according to Vincent Odotei-Sowah is to attract more capital and resources into the Club.

The club believes the shares floatation will help the team get a strong financial backing in the near future, after the first one failed to meet its desired target.

“I am glad to tell the whole world that next month, Accra Hearts of Oak will embark on rights issue — right issue means that those who own shares in the club will be given the opportunity to buy more shares,” Mr. Sowah said in an interview with Kumasi-based Radio station, Sikka FM.

“We are going to float two hundred and twenty million Ghana Cedis (GH¢ 220M),” he revealed.

The Phobians have intend to move their offices to Pobiman, a suburb of Accra, but work is far from advanced to meet the standard required by the club.

The renowned politician added that the club have concluded plans and are hopeful of completing part of the work by the end if the year.

“We have almost completed work at Pobiman where we are going to build three pitches to our house our teams, the whole administration of Hearts of Oak will move to Pobiman, and we will put the facility at Adabraka into economic use.

“We have completed plans to build a whole sports complex. We are expecting that the supporters to prepare themselves and own part of Hearts of Oak and have a say in the decisions of the club.” He said.

The club hopes to complete part of the Pobiman facility should they have successful floatation of shares.
